Colorado voters will inevitably have questions about the twenty-three ballot measures on the November 3 ballot. In two October briefings, the League of Women Voters hopes to provide some answers.

Long-time LWVCO Voter Service Director Gerry Cummins will speak about the eleven state measures, several of them quite controversial, on October 5. Taxes and the question of how much revenue will be available to fund state services will form one group of issues. Questions range from the repeal of the Gallagher Amendment, the extension (and expansion) of the tobacco tax to cover vaping products, a reduction in the state income tax rate, and a proposal that voters must approve some fee-based enterprises. There are a couple of gambling-related questions: some rule changes for bingo and raffles and an opportunity for gambling towns to raise betting limits. Voters will also decide whether to reintroduce grey wolves to the state, institute a paid family and medical leave program, impose a 22-week limit on abortion services, change some language concerning who can vote, and, of course, whether Colorado will continue to be a part of the National Popular Vote Compact. While the program will be online, viewers will be able to ask questions using the chat feature of Zoom.
