At the onset of 2020, women in the U.S. held more jobs than men for the first time in a decade. While the numbers were close, economists noted they expected this trend to gain momentum. Then COVID-19 happened, and more than 2 million women left the workforce in 2020.
Women witnessed the effects of a global pandemic unfold at their kitchen tables and explode during Zoom calls. In an instant, we became teachers, nurses, nannies, concierge, chefs, and
cleaners, on top of being a businesswoman. Some of us were laid off, furloughed, promoted with no pay raise. And the list goes on.
