EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Bring your drink of choice and
join us for an evening of sharing, a presentation, and networking.
Black Lives Matter has been at the heart of many recent discussions. Join us on July 22 as we welcome Dean Crystal Guillory from the University of Houston. Dean Guillory has been conducting student focused discussions on BLM these past few weeks, including the demonstrations, becoming an agent of change, redistribution of community safety funding, and reparations.
Crystal Guillory is the Assistant Dean in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Houston – Downtown (UHD). Dean Guillory received her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from UHD and her M.A. in African American Studies from Temple University. She started her career in education as an Upward Bound teacher and counselor here at UHD and at Harcum College outside of Philadelphia. After graduating from Temple University, Ms. Guillory started working for UHD as a faculty member in the English Department while continuing to work as a counselor and English teacher with the UHD Upward Bound program. She is also one of the original fellows for the Center for Critical Race Studies. She has over ten years of experience working with minority populations and first-generation students.
All fees will be waived due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
An email with Zoom information will be emailed to you after registering for this event.
