Barbara Brooks

  • How to get started
  • What platform to use for which audience, and which platforms result in the most engagement?
  • How often to post and what kind of content
  • What are the benefits to your business by engaging in social?
  • What is the demo for each of the major platforms?
  • Should you pay for advertising on social?
  • What are the ROIs that a business owner can expect?
  • Any emerging trends in social?

Barbara Brooks is a 28-year award-winning marketing and public relations professional. Catapulting shopping centers and districts to market leaders, she oversaw the marketing departments of regional and super-regional malls and downtown districts.

Barbara’s career took an eight-year detour into the broadcast world where she served as a senior sales and business development representative for I Heart Radio, CBS Radio and Gannett (9News) before returning to shopping malls. It was at that time that she became an accidental entrepreneur and in 2011, partnered with long-time business associate, Guadalupe Montes Hirt to start DECIBEL – an agency delivering ‘social marketing’ with flair and savvy.

Barbara’s second act.
By 2018, Barbara found herself professionally and personally stuck, unhappy, and passionless. As an impact maker, serial connector, and community philanthropist, she toyed with the idea of creating a businesswomen’s event. After attending a women’s conference and consulting with friends her purpose manifested. In the summer of 2018 at 51, Barbara founded a new company, Bloom+Co Presents and began work its first brand nearest to her heart, SecondActWomen, a business and lifestyle community for women 40 and 50+.
